Michael Alan Meyer, DO, CCS, CPC, CPCI |
Dr. Mike Meyer is an educator and former Program Director for Medical Office Administration (MOA), Medical Insurance, Billing and Coding (MIBC) and Medical Assisting (MA) programs at three different national Colleges. He is dedicated to advancing the careers of those who desire to enter the healthcare industry as allied health professionals. He has been teaching for over 15 years and developing curriculum as a subject matter expert for medical administration, coding, health information management (HIM) and medical assisting programs. He is a Senior Healthcare Coding Consultant and has worked as a field auditor for both inpatient and outpatient medical facilities and insurance companies. Prior to being an educator and coding consulting, Dr. Meyer was a board certified family practice physician. He is a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through AHIMA, and a Certified Physician Coder (CPC) with over ten years in the field as a licensed Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) Instructor through the AAPC. He has trained thousands of learners in medical coding, of which the majority have earned their CPC certification, and/or specialty certifications from AAPC, or CCS-P and CCS from AHIMA. His professional memberships include the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the American Medical Association (AMA). He was a AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM and PCS Certified Trainer and Ambassador from 2010-1016 during the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10. He is a member of the AHIMA Professional Certification Approval Program (PCAP) Council.
